Seminary Visits

Discerning a vocation can be tough.  Often times, attending a “Come and See” or retreat visit to a real seminary can help a young man discern.  “Can I picture myself here?”  Each fall and spring, the Diocese of Rockford takes young men (ages junior in high school and older) from all over our diocese to attend such a visit.  If you have interest, please fill out the proper interest form found below and we would be happy to provide you with more information!

For those with or near a bachelor’s degree, the next Come and See visit is:  March 15 – 17, 2024

For those aged 16+ (junior high schoolers thru early/mid college), the next Come and See visit is:  February 15 – 17, 2024

Summer Retreats

The Lord is calling each of us to a unique life of fulfillment and joy, yet how do we know where we should go?  By taking the time to listen to the voice of Jesus.  This summer the vocation’s office is hosting Encounter Retreats, precisely where the Lord can speak to you.  These one-day retreats are led by the seminarians and priests, and will include engaging talks, fun games, Mass, Confessions and discovering the Lord’s will.

There is no cost for these retreats.

Of note, there will be two age appropriate tracks:

  • Track 1 for grades 7 – 9  (at minimum, must be 12 years of age)
