Be a Seminarian PenPal
For this year’s National Vocations Awareness Week (November 1 – 7), the Diocese of Rockford’s Office of Vocations is promoting the “Be a Seminarian PenPal” program for all diocesan and parochial schools. Whether that’s drawing them a picture as a first grade classroom, or writing a letter together as a seventh-grade classroom asking them what their life is life, this program is designed to help foster an awareness and greater knowledge of vocations in the Diocese of Rockford.
This program is teacher-led from beginning to end. As a part of their lesson plan, teachers will introduce the program to their students, guiding them every step of the way. Teachers will review all correspondences before they sent and serve as the only and official point of contact for any response. All correspondence takes place through the participating school—not directly between individual students and seminarians—and the program incorporates the Diocese of Rockford’s Safe Environment protocols and appropriate parent/guardian notification.
Are you a teacher at a parochical school or diocesan school?
