Good Shepherd Sunday is the Fourth Sunday of Easter and is when we liturgically celebrates the theme of Christ as the Good Shepherd from John 10:1-10. The Gospel reading portrays Jesus as the shepherd who knows his sheep, calls them by name, and lays down his life for them. It is also the occasion for the World Day of Prayer for Vocations, where the faithful are encouraged to pray for more priests, deacons, and religious.
